Day 1 – Thursday | Arrival & Check-In
Family members will arrive throughout the day and check into the host hotel beginning in the afternoon.
Welcome materials will be available for pick-up during the designated check-in window. The remainder of the day and evening will be open for rest, travel recovery, and informal family time as relatives reconnect and prepare for the reunion weekend.
Friday, July 31, 2026
Day 2 – Friday | Registration, Swag Pick-Up, Family Tours & Evening Soirée
Friday will serve as a continuation of arrivals from Day 1, allowing additional family members to check in and complete registration. During this time, attendees will pick up reunion materials and swag items and receive important information for the weekend.
Following registration, family members will participate in planned afternoon group outings. Options include a 21+ winery tour at Stone Tower Winery or a family-friendly museum experience in Washington, DC, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture or nearby museums. These outings provide opportunities for shared experiences while allowing families to select the option that best fits their interests.
Later in the evening, join us for the Summer Soirée in your black and white, summer chic and casual wear, for an evening of music, fellowship, and a little dancing with the Savage-Hester family. Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
Saturday, August 1, 2026
Day 3 – Saturday | Family Reunion Day
Saturday will serve as the main reunion day and centerpiece of the weekend.
The day will begin with a family meeting to welcome attendees and share important announcements.
This will be followed by the family picnic in the afternoon at a Lake Fairfax park offering food, music, and activities for all ages, creating space for connection and shared experiences across generations.
Later in the afternoon and into the evening, family members may continue fellowshipping, explore the DMV area, or enjoy time together. Dinner will be on your own.
Sunday, August 2, 2026
Day 4 – Sunday | Worship, Family Brunch & Departure
Sunday will begin with an opportunity for family members to attend church together.
Following worship, the family will gather for brunch at the home of Daryl and Carol Savage, providing a relaxed space for farewells and reflection.
The weekend will conclude with a family departure meeting to share final announcements, express gratitude, and formally close the reunion before families depart and travel home.
